Performance Utility
Avcon Performance and Utility modifications include power systems, aerodynamic enhancements, interior operator consoles and equipment racks, and cargo doors, giving mission aircraft the electrical capacity and utility features they need to carry and operate special mission equipment.
The Avcon Supplemental Alternator, approved under STC No. SA03698AT, provides up to 120 amps at 28 VDC to an isolated power bus designed to feed mission equipment on King Air aircraft. The belt-driven alternator installs on the left engine's available accessory pad, with cockpit controls to monitor bus load and voltage.
The Avcon R/X Mod includes aerodynamic fins, tip-tank extensions, and a weight increase package for Learjet aircraft. Extending the tip tanks adds room for approximately 750 pounds of additional usable fuel, providing up to 40 minutes of additional flight time at normal cruise speeds and altitudes. With the aerodynamic enhancements, maximum weight can be increased with landing gear installed per AAK 80-3 or equivalent.
STC No. SA00415WI installs a 13 inch air-ambulance and baggage door immediately behind the existing airstair door, expanding total cabin door width to 38 inches, an increase of nearly 38 percent. This modification is ideal for air-ambulance and cargo applications and is available across the King Air 90, 100, 200, and 300 series.
STC No. SA2192CE installs the King Air cargo and airstair door combination, manufactured by Beechcraft, and is FAA and EASA approved for the King Air 200 and 300 series. The 52 by 52 inch top-hinged cargo door is held open with gas springs for easy loading, while the airstair door fitted inside allows quick switching between freighter and passenger configurations.
Avcon designs and installs custom operator consoles fully integrated into the aircraft's avionics with custom plumbing, wiring, and power supplies, plus reinforced equipment racks for secure attachment of heavy mission payloads, including a reinforced baggage subfloor structure approved for up to 300 pounds of total payload.
