Avcon Receives FAA Approval 400A Starter/Generator for B300 with PT6A-60A Engines
OLATHE, KANSAS, September 19, 2022, – Butler National Corporation (OTCQB: BUKS) announces that its subsidiary Avcon Industries, Inc, a leading provider of ISR and special mission solutions for aircraft, has received Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approval for the installation of the Avcon Dual 400 Amp Starter Generators on the Textron Aviation King Air Model B300 with the Pratt & Whitney PT6A-60 engines.
FAA STC SA11298DS approves the installation of the two Avcon ISR Solutions 400 Amp starter generators on all King Air Model B300 series airplanes. Avcon previously obtained approval of the total generator capacity of 800 Amps on the King Air Model B300 airplanes with the PT6A-67 engines, and now Avcon has the entire fleet of King Air B300 airplanes covered with the addition of the PT6A-60 engine applicability. The installation also features a user-customizable power distribution system with 400 Amps of power from two dedicated electrical busses, allowing optimization for Special Mission Operations.
