For over a half century, Avcon Industries, Inc. has designed complex special-mission and ISR aircraft modifications. Avcon provisions aircraft with custom Pods, camera ports, radomes, equipment racks, mission consoles, underwing stores, and more. Modifications help support surveillance, patrol, target towing, search and rescue, and aerial survey missions. Summary of Functions:
- Remove, identify, and tag the location of equipment in the aircraft.
- Carefully work with large pieces of metal and equipment related to aircraft parts and repairs.
- Follow the aircraft drawings to make modifications as necessary to the aircraft.
- Provide appropriate aircraft riveting or sheet metal work where necessary.
- Reinstate and reinstall all equipment that was removed for the aircraft modification.
- Report to supervisor any work that will not pass Avcon aircraft inspection.
- Perform additional Avcon tasks as required.
Education Requirements: High School education or GED is required.
Experience Requirements: The position should have a minimum of three (3) years experience or be a graduate of an accredited aircraft maintenance school. A&P license is preferred. Must be able to read blueprints. Must be able to read, understand and implement installation and maintenance manual instructions. Must be able to install, modify and maintain various components of aircraft sheet metal. Must be able to rework, repair, fabricate and install complex internal and external aircraft structural assemblies. Must have a general knowledge of aircraft maintenance and repairs. Must comply with all FAA requirements.
Physical Requirements: The position requires the ability to easily fit and perform job duties in maintenance access areas of business jets.
Environmental Conditions: Operation takes place inside hangar with occasional work outside. Hangar doors open to the outside, therefore variable temperatures may occur. Environment may be dusty. There may be continuous extreme noise from aircraft modifications being performed.

Salary: $20.00 – $50.00 per hour
